Creating Cards For Kindness | Join Me in Giving Back with Scrapbook.com!

Making Cards for “Cards for Kindness” with Pressed Florals

A Heartfelt Project with Scrapbook.com**

Today I’m sharing a special project that means a lot to me — creating handmade cards for Cards for Kindness, a wonderful initiative by Scrapbook.com that sends heartfelt cards to hospitals, care centers, shelters, and organizations that support people who could use a little extra love.

Recently, I was lucky enough to win a prize package from Scrapbook.com, and inside were some beautiful supplies from Carta Bella and Echo Park. One of my favorites from the box was the 6x6 Pressed Florals paper pad. The prints are soft, elegant, and perfect for creating uplifting cards.

Cutting cut-aparts

(I cut strips off and layered them on the front of the card)

Since part of the goal of Cards for Kindness is spreading joy through creativity, I thought this was the perfect way to use these papers and give back.

What I Made

Using the Pressed Florals designs, I created a set of simple but meaningful cards with layered backgrounds, sentiment cut-aparts, and a coordinating embellishment. Each card is slightly different, but they all have that calm, comforting floral style that Carta Bella is so good at.

These cards will be packed up and sent directly to the Cards for Kindness program so they can be included in care packages and shared with someone who needs a smile.

Watch the Process on YouTube

If you'd like to craft along with me or get inspiration for your own submission, I shared the full process here:
πŸ‘‰ Watch the video: Creating Cards For Kindness

In the video, I walk through selecting the papers, choosing layouts, adding embellishments, and finishing each card so it’s ready to be donated.

Why I Love Cards for Kindness

This project is a beautiful reminder that small handmade things can make a big difference. Whether it’s a single card or a whole bundle, each one becomes a piece of encouragement for someone who really needs it.

If you have extra paper scraps, older pads, or even brand-new goodies you’ve been wanting to use — this is a great way to put them to good use.  You can find more information here: Scrapbook.com Creative Kindness

A Big Thank You to Scrapbook.com! | Prize Package + Upcoming Projects

Today I’m sending a HUGE thank you to Scrapbook.com for the absolutely amazing prize package I recently won! I’m still smiling ear to ear because everything inside this box was perfect for future projects I’ve been wanting to create.

The package included beautiful paper collections from Carta Bella and Echo Park, and I cannot wait to dive in! The moment I saw the 6x6 Pressed Florals paper pad from Carte Bella, I knew exactly what I wanted to make—Cards for Kindness. This project is part of Scrapbook.com’s wonderful Creative Kindness movement, where handmade cards are donated to bring encouragement, joy, and a little handmade love to people who need it most. I’m thrilled to contribute using these gorgeous floral patterns.

But that’s not all!
The prize also included Echo Park’s "Bookish" collection, which instantly inspired me to create a Rook Reading Journal. I’ll be designing a free cutting guide to share with you all so you can create your own reading journal right along with me. This collection is full of cozy designs, book-loving illustrations, and the perfect vibe for documenting your reading adventures.

And because one fun paper project is never enough…
I’ll also be using Echo Park’s "Plan On It" collection to create a custom Planner. The colors are bright and cheerful, and the artwork is perfect for getting organized in a creative, personal way. I’m excited to share the full process once it’s complete.

I’m so grateful for Scrapbook.com’s generosity and creativity for hosting giveaways like this. Their mission of spreading kindness truly inspires me, and I can’t wait to pay it forward by creating projects that I hope will inspire others too.

Create A Mini Folio Keepsake Box Tutorial

DIY Mini Folio Keepsake Box | Paper Crafting Project

If you love creating mini folios, then you’ll love giving them a special place to live! Today I’m sharing how I crafted a custom keepsake box designed to hold a mini folio made from cardstock and patterned paper. This project is perfect for gifting, storing memory albums, or adding a beautiful handmade touch to your craft room shelves.

The best part? You can customize it to fit any theme- baby albums, Disney trips, weddings, or any folio you create.

✨ Supplies You Will Need

Here’s everything I used to make the keepsake box:

  • Scoreboard & Bone Folder – for creating crisp folds

  • 12x12 Cardstock – for the box base and flap

  • Patterned Paper – to decorate the box

  • Paper Trimmer

  • Adhesive of Choice (liquid glue or strong tape)

  • Scissors

  • Pencil & Ruler

✨ Project Overview

This keepsake box comes together quickly using simple scoring and folding techniques. The base is made from sturdy cardstock to support your mini folio, while the lid is crafted just slightly larger to fit perfectly over the top.

Base 12x12 score at 1" & 1 3/4" on a four sides
At the bottom cut out the left and right boxes then
cut a slit from the bottom up to the score line on left & right sides.
Add adhesive to the bottom side of the tab to glue to the inside of the bottom edge.

Cut one 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" cardstock for the cover.  Adhere to the top/sides.

For the flap: cut one piece 8 1/2" x 6".  Mark 1" down from 8 1/2" side on both sides.  Make a mark on the bottom edge at 4 1/4".  Put the piece in the paper trimmer.  Line up the top mark to the bottom mark at a diagonol and cut.

Add the flap to the bottom of the top piece and adhere on.  Include a velcro or magnet closure.

Once your box is assembled, you can decorate it with coordinating patterned paper, add embellishments that match your folio theme, or keep it simple and clean for a classic look. I love adding layered mats, die cuts, or even a label on the front to show what’s inside.

✨ Why Make a Keepsake Box?

Mini folios are special, and having a custom box to store them makes the entire project feel even more complete.
This box is:

  • Perfect for gifting

  • A beautiful way to store memories

  • Great for organizing albums by event

  • Fun to customize with your own creative style

If you enjoy paper crafting and making interactive books, this keepsake box is the perfect finishing touch.

✨ Final Thoughts

Creating a coordinating box for your mini folio adds that extra bit of magic to any project. With just a scoreboard, a few sheets of cardstock, and some patterned paper from your stash, you can build a beautiful and sturdy keepsake box that elevates your handmade albums.

Let me know if you’d like a printable cutting guide, or ideas for decorating your keepsake boxes!  You can watch my video tutorial on YouTube here: Create A MinI Folio Keepsake Box Tutorial

Charlie Brown Mini Album WIP Project Share | Craft With Me

Peanuts WIP Mini Album Project Share | Craft With Me

Every crafter has that one project that starts with excitement and good intentions… then somehow ends up tucked away, waiting for its moment. This Peanuts-themed Charlie Brown & Knott’s Berry Farm mini album was one of mine. What began as a fun project months ago turned into something much more meaningful — a gift for a dear friend who moved away.

Today, I finally finished it. And honestly? It felt so good to bring it back to life.

✂️ A Special Project With a Special Story

My friend and I started this album together as a memory keeper for her family trip to Knott’s Berry Farm. We both love Peanut’s characters — Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Woodstock — and had picked out the cutest papers to begin building the structure.

Then life happened.
She moved away, and the project stayed behind in the craft room, patiently waiting.

I decided it was time to finish it for her and turn it into a sweet surprise gift. And that made the process even more meaningful.

🎨 Creating Custom Embellishments

Since I didn’t have a Peanuts collection of papers or embellishments, I opened my Cricut and designed several Peanuts-themed embellishments to add personality and movement to the pages:

  • Charlie Brown

  • Snoopy

  • Woodstock and more

  • Knott’s Berry Farm title cuts

These handmade touches really brought the album together and made each page feel extra special.

πŸ“š Interactive Mini Album Features

Like most of my mini albums, this one had to include plenty of spots for journaling, photos, and keepsakes. I built in:

  • Flip pages for extra photo space

  • Flaps to tuck under larger mats

  • Pockets to hold booklets, notes, or memorabilia

  • Pull-out tags for hidden journaling

  • Layered pages using patterned papers from my stash

Empty Album

Die Cut tabs for phot mat inserts

The interactive pieces make the album fun to flip through — every page reveals something new!

🧡 Shopping My Stash

Instead of buying new supplies, I challenged myself to finish the album using only what I already had:

  • Peanuts paper scraps

  • Coordinating Knott’s Berry Farm colors

  • Stickers and ephemera

  • Cardstock cut with Cricut

Not only did this keep the project budget friendly, but it also made me feel great about using up materials I’ve been holding on to.

🎁 A Heartfelt Finish

Watch my YouTube video to craft with me on this album:

Completing this WIP reminded me why I love crafting so much: it’s not just about paper and glue — it’s about making something meaningful.

This mini album isn’t perfect, but it’s full of heart. And I can’t wait to ship it to my friend so she can finally fill it with her favorite photos and memories.

Scrap Paper Storage Solution | Make Pouches & Designer Box Setup

Scrap Paper Storage Solution | Make Pouches & Designer Box Setup

If your craft area is overflowing with paper scraps, this project is for you! Instead of letting all those beautiful leftover pieces pile up, why not turn them into a tidy, organized system? This DIY Scrap Paper Storage Solution is quick, easy, and perfect for any paper crafter who wants to make the most of every sheet.    Use my cutting guide link at the bottom.

With just a few tools, you can make your own paper pouches to hold scraps of different sizes, colors, and patterns—and then store them all in a decorative designer box. Not only does this project help you stay organized, but it also adds a touch of creativity to your craft room dΓ©cor.

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • Scrapbook paper (12x12)

  • Scoreboard

  • Bone folder

  • Scissors

  • Adhesive of choice (double-sided tape, glue runner, or liquid glue)

  • Designer box or decorative storage box (I used 14x16x7)

Instructions:

  1. Choose Your Paper:
Select your scrapbook paper—I used black.

  2. Score and Fold:

  3. Using your scoreboard and bone folder, score the paper to create pouch folds. Adjust the size depending on the scraps you plan to store.

  4. Cut and Assemble:
Trim off any extra edges with scissors, then use your adhesive to secure the sides and bottom of the pouch, leaving the top open for easy access.

  5. Label Your Pouches:
Add labels for color families, patterns, or specific brands to make finding scraps easier when crafting.

Organize in a Box:
Arrange your finished pouches inside a pretty designer box. This not only keeps your scraps in order but also adds a decorative touch to your craft space.  Find these at Micheals, Home Goods, TjMaxx 14"x16"

Now your scrap paper is beautifully organized and ready for your next creative project! It’s a simple, budget-friendly solution that turns leftover bits into a neatly stored collection you’ll actually want to use.

Whether you’re a scrapbooker, card maker, or general crafter, this DIY system helps you stay inspired and clutter-free—all while giving new life to your favorite paper scraps.
