🌻✨ Crafting & Camping: Sunflower Cards, Ink Pad Hacks & Cardmaking in the Woods
🌲
Who says camping has to be all about hiking and roasting marshmallows? For me, the woods are also the perfect place to relax, recharge, and get creative. On this trip, I packed up a few lightweight supplies from Dollar Tree, some of my favorite tools, and turned my campsite into a cozy outdoor craft corner.
🌻 Dollar Tree Sunflower Cards
While sitting under the trees, I pulled out some cheerful sunflower-themed cards from Dollar Tree—they’re simple, affordable, and the perfect base for a little extra embellishing.
To bring them to life, I added:
-
🦋 Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch – to give each card a delicate, nature-inspired touch.
-
🐝 Small Button Bees – the sweetest little accent buzzing around those sunflowers.
-
🍯 Sizzix Honeycomb Embossing Plate – run through my Anna Griffin Cuttlebug Die Cutting Machine, even at the campsite!
- 🌻 Dollar Tree - note cards and Sunflower Stamp set.
- 🦋🐝 SVG/PNG from my Etsy Shop: https://tinkstreasurez.etsy.com/listing/4353858629
The result? Charming, one-of-a-kind cards that look like summer in paper form.
🖤 Craft Hack: Restoring Old Ink Pads
👉 “Before our trip, I placed an order for glycerin from Michaels and picked it up on the way out of town. My ink pad was completely dried out, but instead of tossing it, I brought it back to life with a simple DIY refill hack.”✨ How to Restore a Dried Ink Pad
-
Use a small spray bottle with distilled water. I used 3.2 oz bottle with about 2 oz of distilled water.
-
Mix in a couple Tablespoons of glycerin (this helps keep the ink pad from drying out too quickly in the future).
-
Spray the mixture on the pad, let it sit for a few minutes, then gently press the surface with a spoon or small spatula to spread the moisture evenly.
Just like that—my old ink pad was back in action, ready to stamp!
🌲 Crafting in the Woods
There’s something magical about creating outdoors—the sound of the wind in the trees, crows and cows in the background, and a table full of crafty supplies. My campsite craft session was equal parts relaxing and productive.
So next time you head out camping, don’t forget to pack a few craft supplies. With some Dollar Tree finds, a couple favorite tools, and a willingness to improvise, you can enjoy the best of both worlds: nature + creativity.
