Review and Small Laundry Room Refresh
If you’ve ever struggled with keeping a small laundry room neat and functional, you know how quickly things can pile up. Between detergent bottles, cleaning sprays, dryer sheets, and stray socks, space disappears fast! That’s why I decided it was time for a small luandry room refresh— and my secret weapon turned out to be an Over-the-Door Organizer from Amazon.
🧴 The Problem: Limited Space, Too Many Supplies
My laundry area isn’t large, and I was running out of shelf space for all my laundry essentials. Every time I needed stain remover or dryer sheets, I’d have to shuffle items around to find what I needed. It wasn’t working — I wanted a setup that looked neat but was also practical.
🚪 The Solution: Over-the-Door Organizer from Amazon
While browsing Amazon, I came across this over-the-door organizer that promised easy installation and tons of storage space. Pros it hooks right over the door and has multiple sturdy baskets that can hold heavier items like detergent bottles, fabric softener, and even spray bottles.
Setup was fairly simple — screw driver required — and it instantly added vertical storage that I didn’t even realize I had! The baskets are adjustable, so you can customize the spacing to fit taller or smaller products.
The con, in my opinion is that this particular one, did suggest that you mount this to your door, however I did not, and thought that was a little crazy, to put holes in a good door. However it does come with quality double sided tape that I used.
🌿 Small Laundry Room Refresh
Once the organizer was up, I decided to give the rest of the space a mini makeover. I wiped down shelves, sorted through cleaning products I bought a small trash bin with a lid for laundry detergent pods. If you buy from Costco you know you have plenty to store. I filled the small bin and decanted the rest into a large zip loc bag that can easily be stored in the cabinet (now that there is space) I also gave the room a quick refresh by wiping appliances down and giving the baseboards and floor a good scrub.
In my video (link below) I commented on how I would a place to put my broom and mop etc, I even had a holder that you mount to the wall but I just didn't have the wall space. However when I was putting things away I noticed I had an extra sticky wall mount for a shelf I used on the side of my freezer and started putting 2 and 2 together and came to the conclusion I could put the 2 together. With a little effort I was able to put the sticky backed mount onto the broom holder. I was easily able to stick it to the side of our dryer and voila I had a place to hang my mop and broom! I also added lint holder that magnetizes to the dryer. I even added a sticky back hook. I turned this area into my favorite organized space of this little space.
After I got the door organizer filled I realized I could add 1 more shelf and lay the garbage bags on its side and feed through the squares, and now you have a bag dispenser.
Even though it was a simple update, it made a huge difference. Now, everything has a place — and I actually enjoy doing laundry (well, almost!).
