With just a few tools, you can make your own paper pouches to hold scraps of different sizes, colors, and patterns—and then store them all in a decorative designer box. Not only does this project help you stay organized, but it also adds a touch of creativity to your craft room dΓ©cor.
Supplies You’ll Need:
-
Scrapbook paper (12x12)
-
Scoreboard
-
Bone folder
-
Scissors
-
Adhesive of choice (double-sided tape, glue runner, or liquid glue)
-
Designer box or decorative storage box (I used 14x16x7)
Instructions:
-
Choose Your Paper:
Select your scrapbook paper—I used black. Score and Fold:
Using your scoreboard and bone folder, score the paper to create pouch folds. Adjust the size depending on the scraps you plan to store.
-
Cut and Assemble:
Trim off any extra edges with scissors, then use your adhesive to secure the sides and bottom of the pouch, leaving the top open for easy access. -
Label Your Pouches:
Add labels for color families, patterns, or specific brands to make finding scraps easier when crafting.
Arrange your finished pouches inside a pretty designer box. This not only keeps your scraps in order but also adds a decorative touch to your craft space. Find these at Micheals, Home Goods, TjMaxx 14"x16"
Now your scrap paper is beautifully organized and ready for your next creative project! It’s a simple, budget-friendly solution that turns leftover bits into a neatly stored collection you’ll actually want to use.
Whether you’re a scrapbooker, card maker, or general crafter, this DIY system helps you stay inspired and clutter-free—all while giving new life to your favorite paper scraps.
